PeerApp, a company that offers intelligent media caching and delivery solutions for Internet service providers (ISPs), is teaming up with MediaTrix to distribute digital content to ISPs in different markets around the globe.
The two companies, in joining forces, are offering syndicated video and other content, delivered at wire speeds. This allows new kinds of services, generating more revenue due to the differentiation offered.
PeerApp and MediaTrix plan to serve Latin American, Eastern European, Asian and African service providers.
PeerApp’s Intelligent Media Caching and Delivery Infrastructure for accelerating multimedia content over broadband is being combined with MediaMerx Marketplace Web video tools and multi-channel player. This enables ISPs to make use of the integrated solutions to offer content services that can be upgraded based on demand and market growth.
The technology offered by both the companies jointly will allow media companies to optimally distribute content to multiple network operators. It also enables the aggregation of content from sources, without problems relating to licensing. Content owners and network operators can generate additional revenues making use of such distribution arrangements.
“MediaMerx is the pioneer in distributing premium content to global markets,” said Robert Mayer, PeerApp’s CEO, in a statement. “Their success in developing ISP-based distribution and leading technology for premium broadband video content positions our companies for significant growth in these markets.”
“PeerApp has a strong following in global markets, where it gives ISPs a competitive edge by being able to cost-effectively deliver video content with superior quality of experience,” said Tejpaul Bhatia, CEO at MediaMerx, in a statement.
“We are looking forward to the reach PeerApp will provide into these network operators, as well as to satisfying the demand for our combined solution as operators are turning to video for differentiating their services,” added Bhatia.
