Foundry Networks (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of high-performance enterprise and service provider switching, routing, security, and application traffic management solutions has expanded its service provider vision and product suite with a set of new networking solutions.

 

With a wide range of high performance routing and switching platforms, Foundry has been offering unique service provider solutions for many applications that enable them to deliver core, aggregation and edge services economically and also energy and rack space savings. These solutions are built to meet the demands of new and next-generation carrier networks.

 

Foundry’s service provider solutions include high-density modular and ultra-compact systems as well as a suite of complementary routing and switching solutions that embrace IPv4/IPv6 protocols, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB) and 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) capabilities.

 

This announcement on the expansion of its service provider solutions portfolio includes the NetIron CES (News - Alert) 2000 Series, the one rack unit (1RU) compact edge/aggregation switch with Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB) and 10GbE capabilities.

 

The NetIron CES 2000 Series is built to extend Carrier Ethernet services and it features high versatility for supporting a wide range of deployments and broad range of applications including; Carrier Ethernet services, ISP edge/aggregation, and data center deployments.

 

By combining the NetIron CES 2000 switches with the NetIron MLX aggregation routers and NetIron XMR backbone routers, service providers will have a consistent Carrier Ethernet solution that can accelerate and expand the deployment of enhanced and value-added services to their subscribers.
